			GROWTH OF GE NANOISLANDS A new process has been developed for the growth of sub-10-nm Ge islands on Si(100) surfaces. This process enables precise (<2 nm) patterning of semiconductor quantum dots with the potential for optoelectronic, spintronic and quantum information processing capabilities.
